The 53rd edition of the Barcolana, which took place in the Gulf of Trieste, saw the Bora as the absolute protagonist, which blew forcefully, making the competition technical and strategic and forcing the smaller boats not to cast off their moorings for safety reasons. A regatta that will be remembered as among the most challenging ever, with 1609 participants and only 126 boats in the final ranking.
